MISSION
ISLAND ETC is a non-profit professional theatre organization comprised of a small resident theatre company producing sophisticated, innovative theatrical productions. ISLAND ETC is committed to building and increasing community cultural and artistic growth. Our mission is to promote artistic integrity and growth through producing exciting, diverse, unpredictable productions in an intimate setting that will engage audiences and build community support and involvement, as well as offer another venue in Galveston which will serve to draw more visitors to our island.
PURPOSE
It is the intention of ISLAND ETC to (1) produce innovative theatre of the highest artistic standard; (2) present a wide genre of plays and productions that include new, neglected, and developing plays, as well as sophisticated classics; (3) provide an artistic haven for professional and resident actors, playwrights, designers, and technicians to cultivate and grow through the process of rehearsing, performing, and training with a variety of fresh, bold, challenging theatrical projects; (4) mentor and develop emerging actors and acting students toward future professional experiences; (5) engage and challenge audiences in exciting and thought-provoking performances that will enhance community, cultural and artistic awareness; (6) bridge alliances between the arts, audience, and business community to promote overall cultural growth; and (7) provide an exciting venue of entertainment which draws visitors to Galveston.
DRESS: The dress at Island ETC is always island casual or whatever you desire. We just ask you to wear shirts and shoes (bottoms too).
CONCESSIONS: We do have light concessions; however, our concessions are cash only.
ACCESSIBILITY:
Island ETC offers accessible seating in the orchestra section of the theater with space for wheelchairs. Unfortunately, due to the age of our historic building, we cannot offer accessible seating in our balcony area.
If a ticket for the balcony is purchased, you must be able to navigate a flight of stairs.
